Kurowski Shultz LLC Announces Merger with National Litigation Firm MG+M

Kurowski Shultz Attorneys At Law

St. LOUIS (November 19, 2018) – On January 1, 2019, Kurowski Shultz LLC and Manning Gross + Massenburg LLP (“MG+M”), headquartered in Boston, will merge to form one national law firm. The firm will be known as MG+M.

The strategic combination brings together renowned litigators with unsurpassed expertise serving clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies and iconic business brands. The firm will also provide a broad range of other legal services.

“Joining forces with MG+M makes sense for our resources and footprint in the Madison County and St. Louis legal community,” said managing partner John Kurowski, a Metro St. Louis-area native who founded Kurowski Shultz more than 35 years ago. “Kurowski Shultz and MG+M share a deep commitment to achieving positive results for our clients, leveraging both local and national litigation experience. Our combined talent, assets, and experience enable us to offer even more robust solutions and support to our clients.”

The firms have a long history of working closely together on national toxic tort and other cases all over the country. “Our leadership knows each other well so the elements of trust and management styles were already there,” said Kurowski, who expects the firm’s Illinois presence alone to grow at least 25 percent in 2019.

The united MG+M will have 14 offices in key jurisdictions across the United States, including the addition of Madison County/St. Louis, Chicago, and New York City via Kurowski Shultz. Each office will continue to possess the independent ability to handle all aspects of complex local and national litigation matters within the firm's practice areas, including products liability, toxic torts, talc, asbestos, pharmaceutical and medical device, maritime, construction defect, local government and government affairs, business and commercial disputes, bankruptcy, environmental, and catastrophic loss. The combined firm will also continue to implement MG+M's unique "one firm, one team" model, with clients benefitting from access to the collective knowledge, resources, and bench strength from across the network.

"This is a critical step in achieving the firm’s mission to provide our clients with unsurpassed service and optimal value nationwide," said MG+M partner John B. Manning. “MG+M has worked closely with Kurowski Shultz as an allied partner for over 20 years, and we are very excited about the compelling synergies, expanded footprint and additional resources available to our clients. We believe—as a core value—in today’s business environment, clients expect and deserve a unified team consisting of diverse personnel with deep experience and expertise in a broad range of disciplines."
