Alexander Baker is a native of the Chicago area. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007 with a B.A. in Marketing. In 2011, he received his J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Mr. Baker joined Kurowski Shultz LLC in October 2012. While in law school, Mr. Baker took part in Southern Illinois University’s International Law Study Abroad Program in Ireland, traveling to several major European cities.

Mr. Baker was recently promoted to Senior Associate within the firm and has taken over the day to day operations of Kurowski Shultz's Chicago office to meet client needs in Cook County, Illinois, and surrounding areas.  Mr. Baker concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation, including the defense of toxic tort and personal injury lawsuits. As local counsel for companies involved in litigation over the use of asbestos products, Mr. Baker provides a range of services to his clients including extensive investigation work, motion practice, client reporting, and national litigation coordination.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Baker was an Assistant Public Defender in St. Clair County, Illinois. While there, he concentrated mainly in felony criminal defense and gained significant first chair jury trial experience, obtaining several not guilty verdicts.

Mr. Baker is also a frequent participant in the firm's JDRF events, including the annual October walk and golf tournament.  He is an active member of the St. Clair County and the Illinois State Bar Association.  He is licensed to practice in Illinois, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, New Jersey and New York.

Alex resides with his wife in Chicago, Illinois.
