CIVIL LITIGATION ASSOCIATE OPENING

We have an immediate opening for a Civil Litigation Associate with three to five years’ litigation experience to handle complex litigation matters in New York and New Jersey, at our Manhattan office.  Candidates must be licensed in New York and preferably also New Jersey.

We also have an immediate opening for a Civil Litigation Associate with two to five years’ experience to handle matters in Missouri and Illinois, at our O'Fallon office. 

Candidate Requirements for both offices:

  • Capable of independent work
  • Able to multi-task
  • Work in an organized and efficient manner
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Ability to analyze complex matters

Essential duties and responsibilities for both offices:

  • Conducting depositions
  • Preparing witnesses
  • Drafting discovery and pleadings
  • Trial preparation and support
  • Licensed in Illinois and preferably also Missouri

LEGAL SECRETARY OPENING

Kurowski Shultz LLC is a nationally renowned law firm concentrating on complex civil matters.  The firm's expertise is divers but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation.  We have an immediate opening for a legal secretary with litigation experience.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Able to professionally communicate with a wide variety of individuals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys/paralegals
  • Prepare, transcribe, compose, type, and edit correspondence and memoranda
  • Prepare, type, and edit pleadings, such as summons, subpoenas, complaints, answers, motions, and pretrial agreements
  • Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials
  • File and serve documents on electronic file/serve systems
  • File and electronic document management
  • Receive/route daily mail for assignees
