John J. Kurowski is the founder of Kurowski Shultz LLC.   Mr. Kurowski’s practice focuses on an array of complex litigation matters and government affairs that are national in scope and reputation. He is a frequently sought speaker at national programs and panels and has served as national coordinating counsel for multiple companies over the years. In addition he has tried over 75 cases to verdict in several jurisdictions, including the six month Abate II common issues asbestos trial in Baltimore in the 1990’s, where his clients received one of two defense verdicts.

A native of Southwestern Illinois, Mr. Kurowski received his B.A. degree from Loyola University of Chicago, graduating cum laude in History in 1975. He also attended the Loyola University John Felice Rome Center in Rome, Italy in 1973-1974. He is currently a member of Loyola’s Rome Center Foundation Council of Advisors and has previously served as a member of two alumni boards at Loyola. In June, 2013 Loyola University of Chicago presented Mr. Kurowski its John Felice Award in recognition of his contributions to the Rome Center, Loyola and to business and his community.

Mr. Kurowski has been a visiting Professor of Law at the Nicolaus Copernicus University School of Law and Administration in Torun, Poland where he has sponsored and organized an annual Human Rights Symposium each Fall for the past twelve years. He is the current President of the St. Louis Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).  In 2017 he was also appointed to JDRF’s International Board Finance Committee.  He and his wife Connie are members of the Society of Fellows of the Aspen Institute.

He received his J.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 1978.

He lives in Swansea, Illinois with his wife Connie. They have three adult children.
